Seniors Speak Out Statement on the Proposed Most Favored Nation Provisions in Reconciliation

May 19, 2026—Seniors Speak Out, a national healthcare policy advocacy group, issued the following statement in opposition to the proposed Most Favored Nation provisions in reconciliation:

“Seniors Speak Out is deeply concerned with the inclusion of the Most Favored Nation (MFN) drug pricing provision in reconciliation. Medicare beneficiaries have been very vocal in opposing price-control policies, such as MFN, being introduced into their healthcare plans. They fear these policies will jeopardize their access to cutting-edge treatments and institute discriminatory metrics, like the Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY), that ration care based on age and diminish the value of seniors' lives. Protecting timely access to quality care for older Americans must remain a legislative priority. We urge lawmakers to stand up for seniors by rejecting any effort to codify MFN into law.”
