Seniors Speak Out Statement on the Finalized Notice of the GLOBE Model

October 1, 2026—Seniors Speak Out, a national healthcare policy advocacy group, issued the following statement following the finalized notice for the Global Benchmark for Efficient Drug Pricing (GLOBE) model by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI):

“Seniors Speak Out is deeply concerned by the finalized notices for the GLOBE model because it threatens to diminish seniors’ access to care, as well as quality of care.

“The GLOBE model imports the Most Favored Nation (MFN) drug pricing policy into Medicare Part B, meaning seniors will be the first to feel the effects of foreign reference pricing that caps drug prices and limits the availability of their everyday medications. With the finalization of the model, Medicare’s historically reliable access to treatment is threatened, and seniors will be left with fewer treatment options.

“If lawmakers are serious about tackling rising healthcare costs, they should prioritize policies that are in the best interest of seniors. We are disappointed to see this notice finalized.”
