Seniors Speak Out Statement on the Administration’s Most Favored Nation Executive Order

May 16, 2025—Seniors Speak Out, a national healthcare policy advocacy group, issued the following statement in opposition to the Administration’s Most Favored Nation (MFN) Executive Order (EO):

“While the MFN EO aims to prevent other countries from taking advantage of American medical innovation without paying their fair share, this isn’t the way to accomplish that goal. Imposing artificial pricing constraints on lifesaving drugs would directly undermine the innovation pipeline that seniors rely on—especially those with high-risk, high-cost diagnoses, such as cancer, rare diseases, and neurological conditions."

“Unfortunately, this policy does not serve the best interests of older Americans and instead will exacerbate the Inflation Reduction Act’s price control measures, ultimately putting access and innovation at even greater risk.”
